Natural resource wealth and ecosystem services
The purpose of the project is to further develop and apply the research expertise of Statistics Norway on natural research wealth and ecosystem services, in interdisciplinary cooperation with other research institutes and government agencies.

About the Project
This umbrella project consists of several projects on the knowledge basis for valuation of natural research wealth and ecosystem services, with emphasis on biodiversity. Research activities provide input to official reporting on sustainable development indicators, including the nature index, in cooperation with environmental statistics, as well as valuation and management of the national natural resource wealth. The project has contributed to the government-appointed commission on valuation of ecosystem services, reported in NOU 2013:10. Internationally, the project contributes to the development of the 'SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting' by the UN Statistical Office. The project has close interdisciplinary cooperation with other research institutes and government agencies.
