Local Eletions Survey 2019

Statistics Norway (SSB) is now conducting the Municipal Council and County Council Elections Survey 2019. In this survey we want to look closer into which topics that interest people in the Municipal Council and County Council Elections 2019. For the survey, we have sampled 19 000 people from the voting population from the National Registry. In the survey we ask questions about participation in the election and attitudes to a variety of political topics.

Statistics Norway conducts the survey in collaboration with the Institute for Social Research (ISF).

How do you answer?

You will receive an e-mail and a SMS from us if you are selected to participate in the survey.

The survey is conducted both on telephone and internet.

If you have been selected to answer the survey on telephone, one of our interviewers will call you soon to conduct a telephone interview. The interview takes approximately 20 minutes.

If you have been selected to answer the survey on internet, you can use the link that you have received in the e-mail or SMS. You can also click om the button ‘Electronic reporting’ at the top of this page and log in with username and password that you find in the e-mail we have sent you. You can respond to the survey on PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. If you have lost your e-mail with username and password, please contact us at the e-mail address svar@ssb.no , and we will help you.

If you do not have the possibility to answer the survey on internet, we can conduct a telephone interview. Please send an e-mail to svar@ssb.no or call 62 88 56 08, and we will arrange a time for the interview.

Your answers are valuable

It is very important that everyone that have been sampled to the survey participates, regardless of your interest in politics or if you have voted. If we get few answers, we will get less accurate information. We cannot replace you with someone else, if you do not participate in the survey. The sample have been drawn to represent the Norwegian population. You are important to us!

Your information is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation

• Everyone working in Statistics Norway will treat your information confidentially.
• You can contact Statistics Norway at any time to withdraw and require your answers to be corrected or deleted, or to request access to the information.

To make the survey shorter, we will collect information about you and your household from registers that Statistics Norway has access to. In addition to information from the National Registry, we collect information about education from school owners and the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund, information about income, wealth, medical absence, social securities and benefits from the Norwegian Tax Administration and NAV, and information about participation in the election. Within one year after the final interview, your name will be deleted from the data material, and the national identity number will be replaced by a code that will later make it possible to see the answers in connection with information from the register. The de-identified data material will be stored by Statistics Norway and the researchers at Institute for Social Research (ISF), so that social scientists can make comparisons with subsequent election surveys.
